Predicted Tottenham line-up to face Arsenal in the League Cup

Tottenham Hotspur picked up an important 1-0 win against Burnley during the weekend that kept them at third place on the table. Mauricio Pochettino’s men found it hard to get going against the Clarets but ultimately found the back of the net.

Spurs will now turn their attention to another North London derby clash against Arsenal in the League Cup. The Gunners lost to Southampton this weekend as their unbeaten streak came to an end. Pochettino will definitely want to come away with a win and push for silverware this season.

Team News

Eric Dier and Jan Vertonghen will both miss this game through injuries. Juan Foyth, Mousa Dembele, Serge Aurier and Victor Wanyama are all also out injured and are unavailable for this game.

Probable Tottenham Hotspur XI

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Hugo Lloris (GK)

The Frenchman kept a clean sheet against Burnley and should keep his place against the Gunners as well.

Hugo Lloris

Kieran Trippier (RB)

Trippier should continue down the right flank, with Serge Aurier out injured. The English right-back’s supply from the right will be massive for Spurs.

Toby Alderweireld (CB)

The Belgian has been a commanding presence at the back for Spurs this season. He will keep his place with both Foyth and Vertonghen injured.

Ben Davies (CB)

With Spurs currently enduring a centre-back crisis in the squad, Davies could continue alongside the Belgian once again.

Danny Rose (LB)

Rose should start this game against the Gunners. However, he needs to provide more going forward.

Moussa Sissoko (RCM)

Sissoko’s work rate has been magnificent this season. He should continue in central midfield against Arsenal.

Harry Winks (LCM)

Winks has always done well whenever called upon. He should start in central midfield against their North London rivals.

Dele Alli (RAM)

Alli could shift out to the right against the Gunners in this game. He will be a nuisance for Arsenal’s vulnerable defence.

Christian Eriksen (CAM)

Eriksen has been in superb form in recent weeks and scored the winning goal against the Clarets.

Heung-Min Son (LAM)

The South Korean was a late substitute against Burnley and will surely start this game. He has been superb going forward.
