Premier League team of the week – Matchday 16

Liverpool moved to the top of the table after this weekend by beating Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium as Manchester City succumbed to their first league defeat to Chelsea. The Reds are now one point ahead of the champions in the driving seat.

Tottenham Hotspur moved to third place after picking up an important 2-0 victory against Leicester City as well. Arsenal maintained their unbeaten streak after getting past Huddersfield Town and Manchester United picked up a dominant victory after quite some time.

Huddersfield Town remain in the bottom of the table after another loss, as does Fulham who were swatted aside by the Red Devils. Burnley did pick up an impressive win to take them out of the relegation zone for now.

Here we take a look at the top performers of this game week-

Premier League team of the week

Joe Hart (GK)

Did well in goal to ensure the Clarets kept a clean sheet and saw out the win. Hart has been producing magnificent saves on a regular basis and finally picked up a deserved clean sheet with a disciplined performance from the defence as well.

Matt Doherty (RB)

Doherty has been in fine form for the Wolves this season. He caused all sorts of problems for the Newcastle defence down the right side and scored the winner in stoppage time to hand them all the three points.

Matt Doherty

James Tarkowski (CB)

Scored the only goal which proved to be the decisive won for Burnley against Brighton and Hove Albion. Tarkowski has failed to hit the heights of last season but he definitely did well in this game.

David Luiz (CB)

After much criticism, the Brazilian showed up against City with a dominant performance at the back. He also headed in the winning goal on the night and ensured Chelsea took home the three points.

Andrew Robertson (LB)

Wreaked havoc down the left flank against Bournemouth. It was his brilliant cross that resulted in the own goal. The Scottish international has excellent defensively as well.

Robert Snodgrass (RM)

The West Ham midfielder continued his impressive form in recent weeks by scoring his first Premier League goal of the season. Snodgrass has looked dangerous from the down the right wing.

N’Golo Kante (RCM)

Scored the opening goal against Manchester City and played a crucial role throughout the game as well. Kante ensured he did his defensive bit on the night too.

Lucas Torreira (LCM)

Once again it was the Uruguayan who bailed out Arsenal by scoring the winning goal. He has been superb in the middle of the park this season.

Felipe Anderson (LM)

The Brazilian continued his fine form with another goal against Crystal Palace this weekend. Everything seems to be going through Anderson at the moment.

Mohamed Salah (ST)

The Liverpool attacker picked up his first hat-trick and capped off a dominant performance against the Cherries. The Egyptian now looks back to his best.

Heung Min-Son (ST)

Another classy performance from the South Korean, who scored a stunning goal with his weak foot and assisted Dele Alli for the second on the night.
