Predicted Watford Line-up To Face Southampton In The Premier League

Watford FC will take a trip to the St. Mary’s Stadium this weekend, as they take on Southampton in the fourth match-week of the Premier League.

The Hornets have had a decent start to the new season under new boss Marco Silva, collecting five points from three games, with a win over Bournemouth and draws against Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion. They currently occupy the 7th position in the league table and Silva will want to get the three points from the game.

Team News

Defender Sebastian Prodl picked up an injury while on international duty with Austria and might not feature for the Hornets. Daryl Janmaat, Younes Kaboul and Craig Cathcart continue to be absent for Silva, along with midfielder Roberto Pereyra, with all being out due to injuries. Uruguayan centre-half Miguel Britos too will miss out, as he serves his three-match ban, while Tommy Hoban and Mauro Zarate are the long-term absentees.

Manager: Marco Silva

Formation: 4-3-3

Heurelho Gomes (GK)

Though Silva has brought in Orestis Karnezis, it is unlikely that he will drop his No.1 goalkeeper immediately. So, Gomes continues between the sticks.

Kiko Femenia (RB)

With Daryl Janmaat still unavailable due to injury, the Spaniard who joined only this summer will continue to feature at right-back.

Kiko Femenia

Molla Wague (CB)

Given the number of injuries that the manager has to contend with, we could see deadline day arrival, Molla Wague make his debut for Watford.

Christian Kabasele (CB)

The 26-year old did not play a lot over the last one year, due to injuries. But given that a number of key men are likely to miss out, he will get a chance to prove himself.

Jose Holebas (LB)

Having served his one-match suspension, the Greek international will return to the starting XI, with deadline day recruit Marvin Zeegelar expected to watch on from the bench.

Etienne Capoue (CM)

The Frenchman has netted a couple of goals already this season, coming on from the bench. Should be given a start ahead of Tom Cleverley.

Etienne Capoue

Abdoulaye Doucoure (CM)

The 23-year old has become a mainstay in the middle of the park for the Hornets. Provides the legs and the energy in the midfield. Sure to start.

Nathaniel Chalobah (CM)

The third midfield spot will be occupied by former Chelsea man Nathaniel Chalobah. The midfielder has had a decent start to life at Vicarage Road and was rewarded with a call-up to the England national team. Will want to build on it.

Andre Carrillo (RW)

The loanee from Benfica could be set for his Watford debut. Raw pace, good dribbling and an eye for a goal, he could be an exciting addition.

Richarlison

Andre Gray (ST)

The club-record signing will lead the line for the Hornets, ahead of Troy Deeney, purely because the former Burnley man offers more speed and fits better into the scheme of Silva’s things.

Richarlison (LW)

The left-hand side of the attacking trident will be occupied by another exciting summer addition, Richarlison. The Brazilian attacker has shown great promise in the early parts of the season and deserves a spot in the starting XI.
