Predicted Swansea City Line-Up To Face Tottenham Hotspur In The Premier League

Swansea City will travel to the capital this weekend, as they gear up to face Tottenham Hotspur at the Wembley Stadium, on Saturday.

The Swans are placed 15th in the Premier League table, with 4 points from 4 games – having won a single game till date. Their last game against Newcastle United ended in a 1-0 loss at home and manager Paul Clement will be intent on bouncing back against Spurs, who haven’t won either of their two league fixtures at home this term.

Team News

Midfielder Ki Sung-Yeung is close to returning to full fitness, but Saturday’s encounter will be too soon for him. Nathan Dyer has begun training but is quite a way from being match fit. Defender Kyle Bartley is a long-term absentee.

Here’s how the Welsh outfit could line up against Mauricio Pochettino’s brigade:

Manager: Paul Clement

Formation: 4-3-1-2

Lukasz Fabianski (GK)

The Polish shot-stopper is often the unsung hero for the Swans and is a firm fixture in between the sticks for all their games.

Kyle Naughton (RB)

Going up against his former team, the 28-year old will be extra motivated to put on a good showing on Saturday.

Kyle Naughton

Federico Fernandez (CB)

The Argentine centre-half is a reliable presence in the backline for the Welsh club and will keep his palce in the starting XI.

Alfie Mawson (CB)

Fernandez will be partnered by the impressive Alfie Mawson. Will have to contend with the threat of Harry Kane.

Martin Olsson (LB)

The Swedish left-back hasn’t been able to hit the form of last term yet. Can be a good outlet down the left-hand side if he manages to get going.

Renato Sanches (RCM)

The high-profile loan signing from Bayern Munich made his debut last weekend, but it looked a little rusty. However, he is a quality player and will come good for the Swans if persisted with.

Sam Clucas (DM)

The former Hull City man will sit as the deepest in the centre of the pitch and will look to anchor the midfield for Swansea.

Tom Carroll (LCM)

Another former Tottenham man in the Swans’ camp, Carroll will be driven to impress against his former team at the Wembley.

Leroy Fer (CAM)

The Dutchman will take his place in the attack, in the hole behind the strikers. Will be tasked with driving his team forward and creating chances.

Jordan Ayew

Jordan Ayew (ST)

The Ghanaian forward is a grafter at the top, who runs hard and creates spaces for his teammates to exploit. Should be preferred ahead of Wilfried Bony.

Tammy Abraham (ST)

Partnering Ayew in the attack will be Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham. The youngster has shown glimpses of his potential, but needs to start delivering goals on a regular basis.
