Predicted Arsenal Line-up To Face Watford On Saturday

With back to back victories before the international break, Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal have managed to find a place in the top-6 before the international break and they will look to take off from where they left, when they face Watford this weekend. The Gunners travel to the Vicarage road to face a side that has proven hard to beat this season.

The Hornets have lost just one game so far this season, at home to Manchester City, and will believe that they can take something from this game. But Wenger will go for the kill.

Team News

Arsenal have loads of players out injured this weekend. Santi Cazorla and Calum Chambers are definitely ruled out. Laurent Koscielny faces a race to be fit before the weekend while Shkodran Mustafi is ruled out too. Francis Coquelin is not expected to be back either while Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck, even if fit, can only make the bench.

Here’s how Arsenal might line up against Watford

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Manager: Arsene Wenger

GK – Petr Cech

The experienced shot-stopper is crucial to this Arsenal team and will be looking for a clean sheet in this tie.

CB – Rob Holding

The youngster has been exceptional in most games he has played and should play on the right-hand side of the backline.

Rob Holding

CB – Laurent Koscielny

The French international is still not declared fit but he is the skipper and is expected to play at the heart of the defence, and could be replaced by Per Mertesacker if he fails to pass the late fitness test.

CB – Nacho Monreal

The full-back turned CB has done well in his new role and is an exceptional player. Wenger will surely pick him in the line-up.

RWB – Hector Bellerin

The lack of options in this role should see Wenger stick with the Spaniard.

CM – Granit Xhaka

Xhaka has been struggling to get things right this season and he has to pick up some form if Arsenal are to mount a serious title challenge.

CM – Aaron Ramsey

The Welshman isn’t removable from a Wenger XI, is he? A sure starter for the Gunners.

LWB – Sead Kolasinac

The newbie for Arsenal, Kolasinac has been brilliant for the Gunners since arriving and he should continue as the left wing-back.

RW – Alex Iwobi

With Ozil and Welbeck out injured, Wenger should use Iwobi on the right side of his front-three for this game.

Alexandre Lacazette

LW – Alexis Sanchez

Though he did not have a great time with his national side, Sanchez will surely be pumped up this weekend against Watford and will be the danger man.

ST – Alexandre Lacazette

The French striker should lead the line for Arsenal this weekend and he will have the responsibility to break the Watford defence.
