Predicted Chelsea Line-up To Face Crystal Palace In The Premier League

Having slowly started to climb up the points table, Chelsea were pushed back by table toppers Manchester City in the previous league game and will look to bounce back with a win after the international break. It cannot not get easier for the Blues as they travel to Selhurst Park to face a Crystal Palace side at the rock bottom of the points table.

Roy Hodgson’s men are yet to pick a point or even score a goal this season and Antonio Conte will hope that his side make light work of the Eagles.

Team News

In early team news, Danny Drinkwater remains sidelined for this game. Both Alvaro Morata and N Golo Kante are expected to be miss this game as well but remain the only other injury issues for Conte.

Here’s how Chelsea might line up against a hopeless Crystal Palace side:

Formation: 3-5-2

Manager: Antonio Conte

GK – Thibaut Courtois

The Belgian shot-stopper is among the best in England and will look to keep a clean sheet.

CB – Cesar Azpilicueta

The Spaniard remains Chelsea’s most consistent defender in recent times and should keep his place in the side.

CB – David Luiz

The former PSG man has not been at his best at the heart of the Chelsea defence but he might not be tested much this weekend.

CB – Antonio Rudiger

The German ace has made a decent start to life at Chelsea and should complete Conte’s backline.

RWB – Victor Moses

With Zappacosta hot on his heels, Moses cannot afford to put in another weak effort for Chelsea this weekend.

CM – Tiemoue Bakayoko

The French midfielder, in the absence of his compatriot, should shoulder the responsibilities in Chelsea’s midfield.

CM – Cesc Fabregas

With Kante and Drinkwater out, Conte has no choice but to use Fabregas alongside Bakayoko against Palace.

LWB – Marcos Alonso

The Spaniard has been in superb form of late and will be one of the danger mrlen for Chelsea in this tie.

RW – Pedro

The Spaniard could finally get his chance in the first team and will have to do really well to retain his place for the next set of games.

LW – Willian

The pacy winger is expected to start on the left flank and will hope to torment an already struggling Palace defence.

F9: Eden Hazard

With Morata injured, Batshuayi is the only option to lead the attack but he has not won the trust of his manager, which should see Hazard play a free-floating role in the final third.
