Hamilton vs Rangers Prediction: Rangers line-up

With club football set to resume after the international break, Rangers will be looking to keep the pressure up on arch-rivals Celtic at the top of the table when they make the trip to the SuperSeal Stadium to lock horns with Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

Steven Gerrard’s side head into the weekend fixture against Hamilton with an unbeaten run of eight games in a row in all competitions and they will be the outright favourites to come away with all three points once again.

Hamilton, on the other hand, are currently languishing 10th in the standings after failing to win any of their last six games in all competitions, including a 5-0 hammering at the hands of Rangers on Matchweek 8.

Team News

Gerrard doesn’t have any major injury issues to contend with heading into the game against Hamilton.

However, with the Europa League fixture against Feyenoord coming up next Thursday, the likes of Alfredo Morelos, Steven Davis, Filip Helander and Scott Arfield could be afforded a bit of rest following a hectic international schedule.

Predicted Rangers XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Allan McGregor (GK)

The veteran has already kept 12 clean sheets for the Gers in all competitions so far and is one of the first names on Gerrard’s team sheet.

James Tavernier (RB)

The captain has shown signs of returning to his best after a series of lacklustre displays and Rangers will need him to be at the top of his game on Sunday.

Nikola Katic (CB)

The Croatian hasn’t always been a regular starter at the heart of the defence but he could get a start on Sunday if Gerrard opts to rotate his squad.

Connor Goldson (CB)

The former Brighton man has looked shaky on a few occasions but he has always been a regular fixture at the back for the Gers.

Borna Barisic (LB)

The Croatian has really come to the fore to establish himself as one of the mainstays at the back for Gerrard following a disappointing debut season at Ibrox.

Ryan Jack (CDM)

The former Aberdeen star has been quite exceptional for Rangers in the middle of the park this season and he should once again be amongst the starters on Sunday.

Glen Kamara (RCM)

The Finnish international has become a real asset to Gerrard’s midfield with his tough-tackling and energetic style, and Rangers will need him to fire on all cylinders once again.

Joe Aribo (LCM)

The Nigerian has established himself as one of the mainstays of the club’s midfield since his move to Ibrox from Charlton in the summer and he should get a start for this one if Davis is rested.

Ryan Kent (LW)

The former Liverpool man has struggled with injuries since his permanent switch to Ibrox from Anfield in the summer but he should be fresh after having a long rest during the international break.

More Rangers News

Sheyi Ojo (RW)

The loanee is yet to hit top gear but Gerrard needs to back him with regular starts in the league games.

Jermain Defoe (ST)

The veteran has largely played second-fiddle to Morelos but with the Europa League fixture coming up next week, Gerrard might hand him a rare start on Sunday.
