Go For It Klopp – Why This Manchester City Outcast Will Be The Perfect Signing For Liverpool

Share

One of the most difficult things to do when you’re putting together a competitive squad, is finding the right goalkeeper for your team, as this is arguably the most important position on the field and you need to have a reliable option.

Nowadays, Liverpool have struggled mightily to have a reliable and consistent defence, and even if they’ve put together one of the most terrifying offensive squads we’ve seen in ages, it just seems like they’re light years away from winning a Premier League title with that kind of defence.

And one of their biggest issues over the past couple of years has been the goalkeeping, as after Pepe Reina’s departure, it felt like Simon Mignolet was the right choice for the Reds, getting off to an awesome start of his career at Anfield road.

Nevertheless, the Belgian keeper had a major slump on his performances and Jurgen Klopp lost confidence in him, signing his compatriot Loris Karius, one of the most impressive prospects in Europe in that position.

However, Karius was yet another flop at Liverpool’s goal and after an injury and several struggles, the German was demoted to a bench role and Simon Mignolet was recalled to be the starting goalkeeper for Klopp’s side.

So, with all the doubts surrounding him and Liverpool’s defence, it seems like Jurgen Klopp is ready to make a push for Manchester City’s outcast Joe Hart, as the veteran Goalkeeper isn’t comfortable in his current side, Torino, and it has been pretty clear that he has no future at Manchester City while Pep Guardiola is there. But, would he actually be a good fit for Liverpool? Let’s take a look at some facts and discuss.

Joe Hart is still quite young for a veteran goalkeeper, as he’s only 29 years old and goalkeepers often retire way after other players do, i.e., when they’re in their forties. Having said that, it’s still pretty early in his career and making a move at him now would guarantee the team to have a reliable keeper for many years to come.

Besides, the English national team starting goalkeeper is probably the most proven and experience available goalkeeper you’ll find in the market, and he already knows how to play and succeed at the English Premier League, where he spent his entire career before being snubbed by the citizens.

Of course, Hart has been known for making childish mistakes in key moments through his career, but that doesn’t mean that he’s not one of the quickest and active goalkeepers, owning feline like reflexes and a nice ability and length to block shots and defend his goal on one on ones.

Hart would also be a significant upgrade if compared to both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius, so he could definitely add some consistency and security to Liverpool’s leaky defence, probably becoming the missing piece they’re desperately been missing over the past 5 years or so, significantly boosting their chances to finally win the Premier League title for the first time in their history.
