Go For It Koeman – 3 Signings That Could Improve Everton Massively Next Season – Including This Swansea Attacker

Three Players Who Everton Should Sign This Summer

Everton enjoyed a good first season under Ronald Koeman, finishing 7th and qualifying for the Europa League. The signings under Koeman have largely been successful, especially the likes of Idrissa Gueye, Bolasie and Morgan Schneiderlin. However, Koeman would be looking to enhance the squad to build on the previous season. Let’s have a look at 3 sensible signings he could make, to possibly improve on the league finish and have a good outing in Europe as well.

Gylfi Sigurdsson

The playmaker from Iceland had an excellent campaign in an otherwise poor season for his club, contributing to half of his team’s total goals, finishing with 9 goals and 13 assists for the Welsh club. Needless to say, he deserves to play for a much better team and with Barkley looking likely to leave after stalling contract talks, Gylfi would be an upgrade over the inconsistent Englishman and will provide a different creative edge to Everton.

Bacary Sagna

Part of the massive clearout from Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, Sagna is a free agent and would be a sensible signing for the Toffees. Having lost Seamus Coleman to a horrific injury, they need a solid right back, in spite of Holgate doing a decent job. Sagna would be a good temporary replacement, bringing in his vast experience in the Premier League and a superb right foot. He will arrive for free and that is an added bonus for Everton as they would not spend a penny on a backup player.

Alexandre Lacazette

This is the most ambitious, yet a possible name on our list, mainly for 2 reasons. One is that Romelu Lukaku, who is Everton’s all time leading scorer in the league, looks set to leave Everton to satiate his ambitions and thirst for Champions League football. Secondly, Everton should be financially well equipped to complete the deal with the money they could get from Lukaku’s potential sale.

Lacazette scored an incredible 37 goals last season and has all the tools to succeed in England. Excellent movement, good pace and strength, brilliant finishing, and the ability to play with his back facing the goal should make him almost a like-to-like replacement for the Big Belgian, except for the height factor, which stops him from being aerially stronger. However, this was his 3rd excellent season in France and with him being 26-years old, and with the World Cup 2018 looming, he would be tempted to move to the biggest league in the world to cement a spot in his national team.
