Get Ready To Witness Something That Has Been Missing At Arsenal Since 2011!

Remember those famous Eboue stretches? or those slick dance moves? Well get ready to see some of it this Sunday! Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has admitted that the club misses his doting player Emmanuel Eboue. The Fan favourite Ivorian International Eboue returns to the Emirates this Saturday to play against the Gunners in a pre-season friendly game.

The 30-year old right back served the Gunners six seasons in a row before opting for a move to Turkish club Galatasaray in 2011. Generally a right back, he was often relocated as a right winger by the manager Arsene Wenger. Eboue appeared 214 times for Arsenal securing 10 goals and 25 assists beside his name.

Jack Wilshere confesses that Gunners’ team mates feel Eboue’s absence since his departure.

“He was a special character,” Wilshere told Arsenal’s Official Matchday Programme.

“He was good around the dressing room. Even if he was upset that he wasn’t playing, he kept everyone’s spirits up and was a happy guy.

“He is missed and it will be good to see him around the place. A few of the fans will be happy to see him as well.”

Earlier this week, Eboue has expressed his delightment after getting an opportunity to step in the Emirates once again. But this time he has to compete in the Emirates cup, a pre-season tournament held by Arsenal each year since 2007.

“I still speak to several of the guys regularly – Bacary Sagna and Abou Diaby for example – and sometimes Arsène Wenger too,” Eboué said in theEmirates Cup weekend souvenir programme.

“I always want to hear news from the club because I am a big supporter of them. I’m a Galatasaray player now, but I am still in love with Arsenal and I always watch their games.

“The club only did good things for me, and I never had any trouble from anybody.”

In other news, Arsenal has stated that they are supporting the former England full-back Kenny Sansom who is currently homeless and suffering from alcoholism, as reported by BBC Sport.

Kenny Sansom has represented a host of clubs throughout his 20 years career spell including Arsenal. He spent eight long seasons for the Gunners, highest for any club by Sansom.

“We are aware of Kenny Sansom’s situation and have been providing him with ongoing support and guidance,” said an Arsenal spokesperson.
