Gary Lineker takes a shot at other clubs after Harry Kane’s penalty against Olympiakos

Harry Kane scored a penalty in the 2-2 draw against Olympiakos

Former Tottenham and England forward Gary Lineker took a shot at some of the other clubs regarding the designated penalty takers.

Manchester United have seen their penalty kicks go awry in recent weeks with Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba missing crucial efforts from the spot.

Chelsea also had a problem in their Champions League opener against Valencia as Ross Barkley missed his kick, and the Blues ended up losing the game.

Harry Kane started for Tottenham in their opening Champions League clash against Olympiakos and scored from the spot to give the away side the lead.

The game ended 2-2 as Spurs let a two-goal lead slip against the Greeks, but Lineker had one simple remark regarding Kane and penalty takers.

Kane is one of the best from the spot

This was Kane’s 10th penalty conversion from his last 11 tries, and the Englishman has been excellent from the spot for club and country.

The England captain told the BBC earlier in the month that he worked out for close 30 minutes on certain days in training.

Kane is lethal from all positions and it was a bit of a surprise seeing Tottenham give up another two-goal lead after doing the same against Arsenal a couple of weeks ago.

Nevertheless, the other teams can learn something from Tottenham’s decision to stick with one penalty taker throughout the season.

Of course, it helps when Kane starts most games and the others have to deal with squad rotation and injuries.

Tottenham would also face problems should Kane be out for a while, but the forward is doing his bit at the moment.

Spurs need the Englishman to keep banging the goals in after a less than ideal start to the season, however, they don’t have to worry about penalty misses, for now.
