Forget Mourinho’s Signings – Here Are Three Players Likely To Leave Manchester United In The Summer

Three Players Who Could Leave This Summer

Manchester United are in a spot of bother at the moment as they are out of top-4 in the Premier League. They will be now be involved in a playoff scenario against Ajax in the Europa League final, as a victory in that match can lift United to the Champions League group stage straight away.

The Red Devils spent close a lot of money in the summer at the start of the season and Mourinho is expected to do something similar this window as well. He is sure to spend big on transfer targets and this will see a number of star players quit the club at the end of the season. A number of players are worried about their future at the club and here are three players who are sure to quit Manchester United this summer:

Ashley Young

The versatile England winger has been used in a number of positions by United this season, but only as a backup. He is far from the first-team plans of Mourinho and it is hard to see Young stay at the club to play a similar role for yet another season. He is 31 and has enough playing time left in him and there will not be a shortage of suitors to snap him up this summer. His contract will come to an end at the end of the next season so Mourinho has little options but to sell him.

Wayne Rooney

The skipper of the side, Wayne Rooney has been used extensively in the last few league games, but he has not been in the first team for most of the season, with a lack of form and injuries being the reason. He etched his name in the history books at Old Trafford as the highest goal scorer for the club but with Mourinho planning some insane transfers this summer, Rooney will have no place in the starting XI and will look elsewhere for regular game time. He is just 31 and is wanted by his former club Everton, which could be a superb move for the English striker.

David de Gea

One man Jose Mourinho has resigned on is David de Gea. The Spaniard was linked with a move to Real Madrid a couple of seasons ago but a deal did not materialise due to technical issues. But with Zinedine Zidane desperate to replace Keylor Navas with the former Atletico Madrid man, it now looks like this transfer is inevitable. Mourinho is already in search of replacements and though there is no official statement yet, De Gea is closer to a move to Real Madrid this summer, than he ever has been.
