Forget Milinkovic-Savic – 3 Top players Man United could sign instead including Ligue 1 duo

Three Milinkovic-Savic alternatives United could stick an eye on

Milinkovic-Savic has been linked with a move to the English Premier League with supposed interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils were believed to have recognised Savic as the midfielder to take their club to the next level and the English club was expected to launch a mammoth bid.

However, after an underwhelming World Cup by the player, his demand in the summer transfer window has taken a hit. Chelsea are also rumoured to be interested in signing the Serie A midfielder but there hasn’t been any concrete approach yet.

Here are 3 alternatives for Savic who Mourinho could target if Chelsea end up signing the midfield ace this summer.

Saul Niguez

The torch has been passed to the new generation of midfielders in Spain as Iniesta has announced his retirement from the international setup. Saul Niguez of Atletico Madrid is one of the most promising names of the new Spanish crop, which is very talented.

The central midfielder is among the most complete players in world football as he can do it all – attack, defend and win aerial duels in the midfield. Although Savic is more physical than Saul, the Spaniard is far superior in terms of technical ability.

Adrien Rabiot

Yet another accomplished central midfielder, Rabiot is a hot name in the transfer market. The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is a technically gifted midfielder who glides across the pitch with style and efficacy. At a height of 188 cms, Rabiot is also a solid presence in the midfield as the player doesn’t shy away from imposing himself in the duels.

After missing out on the French World Cup squad, Rabiot is crestfallen and has even expressed it in public. The player could be tempted by a higher salary and an important role at a club like Manchester United.

Lucas Tousart

Although Tousart is not operating at a level which would appeal to the big clubs in Europe, the French midfielder looks set to become the next gem to come out of the mine of talented players that France has become.

Primarily a defensive midfielder, Tousart has all the qualities to become a top central midfielder in the future. Comfortable on the ball, Tousart is a warrior in the midfield who seeks to win every tackle and aerial dual.

Lucas is only 21 years old and the player looks like he has a very high ceiling.
