Forget Felipe Anderson – Here are 3 realistic alternatives for West Ham including this £12m Stoke City star

Three Felipe Anderson alternatives for West Ham United this summer

West Ham are unlikely to complete a deal for Brazilian forward Felipe Anderson. He was a top target for new manager Manuel Pellegrini but Lazio’s chairman seems to be hesitant to let the attacker leave. Hence, it would be best for the Chilean to look elsewhere.

The Hammers need not waste time with Anderson and here the three alternatives they could pursue instead.

Xherdan Shaqiri

The Swiss international, who has a release clause of £12m, is already a transfer target for Liverpool and Manchester United. His relatively low price tag could be advantageous for West Ham as well.

After getting relegated with Stoke City last season, Shaqiri must look for a way to continue in the Premier League. And after scoring 8 goals and supplying 7 assists, he could be a valuable resource for West Ham. He is known to be rather inconsistent but the fact that he created 75 chances in 36 appearances for a relegated team is quite impressive.

It goes without saying that any club would like to sign a player whose variable performance rate is as incredible.

Maxwel Cornet

Cornet is an integral part of Lyon and he enjoyed a successful season despite only starting 13 games. During that time, he scored 4 goals and provided 6 assists during in the league.

In Cornet, West Ham can get a player who is quick, can dribble past defenders and also play in any position across the front line. Lyon must sell him since he only started 13 games last season.

David Neres

The fact that David Neres narrowly missed out on a chance to be a part of the Brazilian squad for the World Cup is quite impressive. He was a star performer for Ajax last season, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists in 32 appearances.

Just like any other Brazilian poster boy, Neres also possesses quick feet, dribbling skills and raw pace to get past defenders in the blink of an eye. If West Ham do manage to get him, it will be a game-changer for them in the coming seasons.
