David Bell has finalised his move to Notts County on a free transfer. Bell became available after parting ways with Coventry City. In a spell with the Sky Blues, the twenty-nine year old scored six goals in ninety-eight appearances. Bell has previously played for Norwich, Luton Town and non-league side Rushden and Diamonds. He has also appeared once for the Republic of Ireland B team.
Notts County have been even busier in the transfer market as they have signed Danny Haynes on a free transfer again. The striker was at Charlton Athletic for eighteen months before being released at the end of last season. Haynes signs a two year contract with the Magpies and also reunites with his former manager Chris Kiwomya. The twenty-five year old began his professional career with Ipswich Town before moving on to a two year spell at Bristol City. After twelve months at Barnsley, Haynes joined Charlton. In an interview with BBC Radio Nottingham, County’s new signing said, “I can do better things under Chris. I’ve worked with him before, at Ipswich. I know him on a more personal level, so it’ll be a good chapter.” Along with these two, County have signed Andy Howarth and Mustapha Dumbuya.
Colchester United have re-signed Chelsea starlet Sam Walker on loan. Walker was on loan with the U’s season and was a key part of their team. He helped the side survive relegation, keeping an impressive seven clean sheets in seventeen appearances. “Sam did extremely well for us when he was here last time around and he was someone we wanted back.” boss Joe Dunne told the club website.
