Chelsea Rejects Liverpool’s Bid For Ryan Bertrand

Share

Chelsea have rejected Liverpool‘s proposal for the Blues 23-year old English left-back Ryan Bertrand. Though Bertrand is waiting to be a regular for the West London club, still he has restated his desire to stay at the Stamford Bridge under Mourinho.

Chelsea officials are forced to take the decision of retaining Bertrand after Roman Abramovich clearly rings an alarm for them. The Russian tycoon now wants more phenomenal players from academy; eventually who will get accustomed to the big league.

This young lad seems to follow the steps of Chelsea veteran John Terry who was a Blues academy player; later on becoming a Chelsea legend.
But still Bertrand needs to be enlisted more often as a first team regular to continue with his development or else his advancement might get a stall.

“I want to be Chelsea’s number one left-back,” he said. “All I can do is be ready and keep playing, keep biding my time. It won’t be, ‘As soon as Ash goes, there we are, it’s mine’. The work will still be there to do.”

Whereas, Bertrand is dreaming to follow the path of his veteran team mate Terry, Terry would find himself in a big mess after the recent statement of Mourinho. The Portuguese manager has firmly stated that this 32-year old former Chelsea and England skipper have to prove his worth to be in the team on a regular basis.

Though he admitted that he has a cordial relationship with Terry off the field, but it has got nothing to do with the business. During Mourinho’s first term at Stamford Bridge Terry was one of the main pillars of Chelsea. His plethora of talent and prolific performance helped Chelsea and Mourinho to lift the Premier League consecutively in 2004-05 and 2005-06.
But gone are the golden days. And it is a harsh world as Terry seems to have getting the blow now. Representing the Blues for 574 games for 15-long years, it is yet another time he needs to buckle up and parade his talent.

Check out his interview (video below) where he talks about replacing Ashley Cole,
