Ahead of the champions league group stage match between Premier League champions Manchester City and Spanish champions Real Madrid, Mourinho who landed in Manchester a day before the game met United boss Sir Alex Ferguson for little chat.

Rumors had it that Ferguson is nearing the end of his glorious career as the manager is planning to bid adieu to the game anytime soon. And it was Pep Guardiola and David Moyes who was spotted as the best replacement for Ferguson. And it was also confirmed by the United’s boss that he met Pep Guardiola in New York for a chat. Though Mourinho may be seriously considered as a replacement for the Scottish manager, Mourinho has always had respect even during his time at Chelsea, when it comes to SAF.

A move for the Portuguese manager to Old Trafford to replace Ferguson would surely be appealing United fans and there’s every possibility that the duo had a little talk about the future of their careers.

Talking to the press, Mourinho said:

“He’s unique, especially in the modern day.”

“If you go back many years, then you will find somebody like him but [it’s amazing] in the modern day at the highest level, where it is really difficult to survive in our job.”

“He’s absolutely incredible at what he does and we can’t even imagine when he’ll stop. He’s unbelievable.”

Manchester United are set to unveil a brand new statue of Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford on Friday and it it believed that some of the big names around the world of football including former United stars Ronaldo, Beckham and Van Nistelrooy would join the occasion
