Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 20 Tips: Arsenal And Stoke City Stars A Must Have

Share

The hotshot striker that is Jamie Vardy seems to have cooled down a bit and that means points lost for the Fantasy Premier League players. Vardy didn’t score against Liverpool and then missed out against Manchester City as well.

The question on everyone’s mind would be if he has lost his spark or this is just the effect of having to play so many games in the festive period. Week 20 of the Premier League does have a few tasty ties which could lead to a few goals and points for the Fantasy League Players.

One of the ties of the round would see Crystal Palace taking on Chelsea and looking to do the double over the Premier League champions while the mighty Watford take on Manchester City at Vicarage Road and could make it another away game for Manuel Pelligrini’s side which they would find hard to win.

League leaders Arsenal take on Newcastle while Liverpool kick-off things against West Ham in the first game of the weekend. The pressure would also be on Manchester United who would be looking to get a win after the 0-0 draw against Chelsea.

With so many incredible games, it could be hard to select just who gets into the Fantasy team but here are five selections that should be in your team.

Xherdan Shaqiri

The Swiss international certainly raised a few eyebrows when he moved to Stoke at the start of the season but his performances under Mark Hughes has improved as the season has progressed and it all came to fruition with a wonderful display at Goodison Park. Shaqiri scored his first two league goals for Stoke City and with the club facing a more defensive West Brom side; he could well do a lot more damage at the Hawthorns.

Odion Ighalo

Odion Ighalo has to be the revelation of the season and is partly the reason why Watford are in the top half of the table. The Hornets were a little unlucky to lose the last game against Tottenham but Ighalo got on the score sheet against Spurs and he could well be looking to get another goal when the club face Manchester City, who are without Vincent Kompany.

Jack Butland

The Stoke City goalkeeper has been one of the best players in his position this season and although he was beaten thrice at Goodison, he certainly could keep a clean sheet against West Bromwich Albion and ex-boss Tony Pulis. Butland will be hopeful that West Brom don’t find their scoring boots while playing at home though.

Mesut Ozil

Can there be any player apart from Ozil who should not be in your team? The German provided another assist in the last game and with the Gunners playing Newcastle; it could well be another game where Ozil gets a few more Fantasy Premier League points for your team.

Romelu Lukaku

While his Everton side ended up losing the game, Romelu Lukaku continued his fine goal scoring form in the loss against Stoke. Lukaku seems to be on fire at the moment and apart from Vardy and Ighalo, Lukaku should be the striker for your team. The Toffees play a tough Tottenham side and with the home crowd wanting a win, at least they can be assured that Lukaku will get the goals, if not the three points.
