Leeds United displayed a fabulous attacking style of football to sweep aside Derby County 4-1 away from home. Marcelo Bielsa’s men were just stupendous throughout the game and took control from the very beginning.
The Peacocks led early through a Mateusz Klich’s curler but Derby equalised, to with Tom Lawrence scoring from a fabulous free-kick. From there on, a brace from Kemar Roofe and a goal from Ezgjan Alioski settled the game without much fuss.
Leeds are now on top of the table and look irreplaceable if the evidence of the first two games is to go by.
Should have done better to stop the equaliser but didn’t have to do too much in the game apart from that.
A tireless performance from the right-back who was diligent in defending and intelligent in moving forward.
A whole-hearted and committed performance from the centre-back, who is ready to put his body on the line.
A complete performance from Cooper, where he was commanding on and off the ball. Certainly a perfect defender for Bielsa.
Was defensively astute but didn’t make too many forays up the pitch. In fact, the attacking players were doing so well that the left-back never really felt the need to break the lines.
He was very intelligent in taking up good positions to intercept the ball or make tackles to win back possession.
Saiz was unplayable at times from central midfield. He has really grown into something special under Bielsa.
Klich, much like Saiz, was unplayable at times. His combination with the Spaniard in the central areas of the pitch was fantastic.
His ability on the ball was sumptuous and he was a great outlet for attacking moves. He will be a vital player for Bielsa this season.
Scored the goal to add the icing on the cake. He was frustrating on few occasions but his overall game was superb to watch.
He is a typical nuisance for the defenders and showed his ruthlessness in front of goal by scoring a brace. Roofe deserves every praise he gets.
Came on to shore up the midfield.
Came on to boos from home support due to his Nottingham Forest connections. Resulted in him cutting a frustrated figure and he got a yellow card for a cynical tackle.
