It was drama until the very end as Swansea came back from a goal behind to rescue all three points at Vicarage Road. New boss Carlos Carvahal has tasted early success in the fast-paced league. Goals from Jordan Ayew and Luciano Narsingh helped the Swans to their fourth win of the season.
The side looked more innovative, played with a higher tempo and responded to their new tactician. The intent was clear despite the start being so slow. They needed the luck and they earned it. The side clearly showed that they have the quality to make productive things happen in the final third if they play with a positive intent and commit bodies forward.
He made two fantastic saves, especially the one off Andre Gray. However, he could have done much better and got stronger hands on Richarlison’s shot.
Couldn’t really sort his feet out and was beaten in one on one situations far too easily. He played a part in the equaliser but wasn’t up to the mark in the first 45.
Not good in handling Okaka as he was out-strengthened but a couple of blocks and important interventions kept him going. Not as sharp and safe though.
The best defender for Swans. His challenges were clean and he was formidable while defending set pieces. Cleared his lines superbly well. He stood up to the task.
Martin Olsson: 6.5/10
Went forward and provided some width, especially late on. He didn’t quite work hard as there was a lot of space behind him that should have been exploited. Got away with it a few times, but surely not a good sign. Olsson’s crossing had pace but was hot and cold.
A decent game for his standards. He switched flanks, passed around well and provided good defensive contribution as the 27-year-old closed down the opponents really well. His passing was way too safe at times though.
Offered a lot going forward here and there, but no consistency in his creativity. Until Ayew’s first shot and his goal, there was barely anything from the Swans, which clearly highlights their defensive mindset. Mesa’s man-marking needs to improve.
His long balls, diagonals and square passes were accurate. The only player to show some creativity out of nothing for the away side. However, he needs to be a little more composed on the ball and not give it away that often.
One could say he didn’t stick to the basics and tried too hard to create openings. Nonetheless, the Bayern Munich youngster created the winner, which is ultimately the most important aspect.
Absolutely nothing going forward. Neither did he turn his head to receive a pass, nor did he make any forward movement. The on-loan Chelsea striker was off the pace and too static.
He was unlucky to have struck the post but late on, he was at the right place at the right time to level for Swansea. Otherwise, he was pretty isolated for most parts.
Very slow when he came on and looked almost invisible. But when he found his range, it was smooth, elusive and finally, he stamped his authority on the match result. His finish was one from the top draw.
He provided the work rate, running and the movement. Right from the word go, he played fearlessly and ran the races. The youngster simply added more mobility.
Not much to show.
