Brighton & Hove Albion put a brake to their winless run in the league by beating West Ham 1-0 at the Amex Stadium on a pleasant Friday night. The Seagulls had failed to win a game in the last six fixtures and hence, this victory was very important to rather kick-start their season.
Chris Hughton’s men deserved three points on the balance of play as the Hammers were not at their best on the night. A customary Glenn Murray goal sealed the points for the home team.
The Aussie should be glad to have got his first clean sheet of the season. Made a couple of decent saves.
Back in the line-up and the veteran looked good at the back. Made some very important interceptions.
Brighton were good at the back and Duffy did everything in the right way. Signed a new contract last week and the commitment was there to be seen.
A fantastic performance from Dunk, who was commanding throughout. He signed a new five-year contract too and it showed why.
He was steady at the back but some of his passes weren’t upto the mark. Brighton would need him to put in dangerous crosses.
Was very energetic in the midfield all game. Won the ball and then provided an inch-perfect cross for Murray to score.
The Dutchman gave the ball away on a few occasions, which wasn’t good at the time. However, he worked hard for the team. Was subbed off later due to an injury.
Was energetic and passionate as ever with his performance but the Frenchman lacked quality at times.
It was his first start in the Premier League and he looked decent. There are a few changes required if he intends to become a regular in the team.
A hard-working performance from March who was pushed to a No.10 role for this game. Should have done better with his chance on goal.
A very good display from the veteran who keeps getting better with age. Scored his fifth goal of the season and might have had one more.
He was brought on to add some fresh energy to the team. Did that in good stead.
Replaced an injured Propper and did well to cover for the Dutchman.
Had no time to make an impact.
