Sheffield Wednesday came from 2-0 down to draw against Stoke City as Barry Bannan’s second half-free kick rescued a point for the Owls.
Stoke City were cruising at one point, having taken an impressive first-half lead, thanks to a Benik Afobe double.
But Wednesday halved the deficit through Portuguese striker Marco Matias before Bannan scored the equaliser from a free-kick to share the spoils at Hillsborough.
Butland was once again let down by his team’s defence. He made some important saves in the second half before being left helpless for Bannan’s free-kick.
Martina showed great energy down the right and always tried to join the attack.
Shawcross was dominant in the air and defended well, although, he will be questioned for the hosts’ first-half goal.
Like his skipper, Indi defended really well barring Wednesday’s first-half goal.
Pieters was caught out of position at times and looked sloppy on the ball. Being one of Stoke’s senior-most players, he should do more.
A really promising debut for Ryan Woods, who once again enjoyed a top game.
Etebo continues to grow with every passing game and against Wednesday, he oozed class. His crisp, clean and simple passes kept Stoke ticking and although his decision-making was questionable at times, the Nigerian justified his selection. He should look to build upon this game.
Allen showed plenty of energy and alongside Etebo, he kept Stoke ticking. He will be cursing himself for giving away the free-kick that led to the equaliser.
Ince was a bundle of energy. He showed some really good touches on the ball, attacked with purpose and gave a different dimension to Stoke’s play in the final third. However, he lacked the end product.
Diouf got into good positions but his touch deserted him a few times as he ceded possession cheaply.
Afobe was a constant threat to the Wednesday defenders due to his pace and power. Scored two and should have had a hat-trick with a bit more luck on his side.
Fletcher was put in the game to organise the team when it looked rattled.
Came on for Diouf in the 84th minute and showed some neat touches.
Was introduced very late in the game and he failed to make an impact.
