EPL Winners And Losers From Gameweek 14 Featuring Arsenal And Liverpool

Share

It’s time to put the 14th week of this year’s Premier League on the books, so let’s take a look at the biggest winners and losers from a very interesting matchday that left fans asking for more, featuring several exciting games.

Winners and Losers from Game Week 14

Winners:

Chelsea

Antonio Conte’s side made an outstanding comeback to defeat Manchester City 3 – 1 after being completely dominated through most of the game, making the most of the 3 opportunities they had in the second half of the game.

The Blues continue their amazing run and went on as leaders of the Premier League table, so there’s no doubt that they’re this week’s biggest winners by a big margin.

Tottenham Hotspur

Pochettino’s side finally caught a break after several subpar performances over the past few weeks, completely destroying Bob Bradley and his soon to be relegated Swansea City.

Harry Kane scored a deuce and led his team to a 5 – 0 victory, exactly what the Spurs needed to get their groove and their confidence back since being knocked out of this year’s UEFA Champions League.

Arsenal

Alexis Sanchez was out of this world once again and led his team to a 5 – 1 victory against Slaven Bilic and his Hammers, becoming a steady competitor for the title and trailing Chelsea by just a single point.

The Gunners bounced back after being eliminated by Southampton on this year’s League Cup semi-final and continued to make a big statement to all those that still doubt Arsene Wenger’s team title chances.

Losers

Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp’s side was in total control of a game against a subpar rival but couldn’t hang on to the score, as those defensive woes showed up late in their match against Bournemouth, conceding 3 scores in the final 14 minutes of the game.

Now, the Reds trail Chelsea by 4 points in their title run, and the debate for the starting goalkeeper spot is once again open after a disastrous afternoon from Loris Karius.

Leicester City

The defending champions can’t catch a break at the Premier League, and even Claudio Ranieri admits it’s time to panic. The Foxes have been a total disaster and are in serious relegation danger, as they fell 2 – 1 against a mediocre Sunderland team.

These guys seem completely out of rhythm and sync, and none of the signings they made have been nearly as good as expected, and they need to turn things around as soon as possible if they don’t want to go back to the Championship.

Manchester City

There’s no doubt that Pep Guardiola’s team was this week’s biggest setback, as the citizens not only let a very important result slip through their hands with some defensive mistakes, but they also lost two key players for a couple of weeks.

That late brawl involving Fernandinho and Cesc Fabregas ended with the Brazilian being sent off, while that vicious tackle from Sergio Aguero earned him a red card as well, after being up 1 – 0 at home through most of the game.
