Huddersfield Town Lineup With Scott Malone In The Mix

Scott Malone should prove to be another shrewd acquisition for newly-promoted Huddersfield Town, with his marauding style on the left complementing Tom Smith wonderfully.

The club clearly knew fine well the task facing them this summer and that, despite a wish to keep the majority of last season’s solid squad together, they needed to strengthen in a big way in order to survive.

It has to be said though; they have made a very good start in the market with Elias Kachunga’s loan from Ingolstadt having been made permanent and new centre-forward Laurent Depoitre having arrived from Portuguese giants Porto.

The excellent Aaron Mooy has signed permanently from Man City as expected and will drive their midfield next term and the captures of winger Tom Ince from Derby and striker Steve Mounie from Montpellier could be a great combination.

Kasey Palmer has been signed on loan from Chelsea and Reading’s American international Danny Williams has arrived on a free transfer. This, on top of a loan for Mainz’s Danish ‘keeper Jonas Lossl. Here’s now their new 4-2-3-1 could look next season, as things stand:

Probable Huddersfield XI

GK: Jonas Lossl

The Danish ‘keeper is on loan for the season and could make a big impact on the league.

RB: Tom Smith

I could not be more happier, now that this fella is in the Premier League. His excellent attacking play from right-back is a breath of fresh air and it’ll be interesting to see how he copes at the higher level.

CB: Chris Schindler

Last season’s strong German centre-back pairing could be given the chance to show that they can do it at this level.

CB: Michael Hefele

Could prove a rock next to his countryman this term. It’ll be interesting to see how he adapts to the demands of the Premier League.

Scott Malone

LB: Scott Malone

Malone will complement Smith wonderfully well, assuming both are allowed to play with freedom as they did in the Championship.

CM: Danny Williams

Almost got promoted with Reading, gets a lucky second bite at the cherry.

CM: Aaron Mooy

The ex-Man City man deserves his chance to shine at the top level and Huddersfield seem to be perfect for him.

RW: Tom Ince

It’s about time the former Liverpool man was back in the Premier League, though you feel it’s now or never for him at this level.

Tom Ince

CAM: Kasey Palmer

Another youngster from what is becoming a very fruitful Chelsea academy. Palmer is a star of the future and may take a few by surprise.

LW: Elias Kachunga

Kachunga is solid and reliable and is still improving. It is a good move that Huddersfield have signed him permanently.

ST: Steve Mounie

An interesting signing, Mounie should be able to complement Tom Ince in what could turn out to be an exciting partnership.
