It is now being reported that Arsenal’s Mathieu Flamini is all set to sign for Ligue 1 side Bastia this summer. Nobody wanted to claim credit for the Arsenal exclusive, though the news comes from the French version of Eurosport and they themselves have stated that it is according to reports.
Anyways, the gist is that the Gunners could let the French midfielder leave before his contract expires for free, as at present he is surplus to Arsene Wenger’s needs.
The fact that he will be moving out from north London without a fee to his name, more European clubs have shown interest in acquiring his services, especially as he was ready to take a pay cut in order to complete his move.
Bastia are hoping that they can complete a deal for the 31-year old veteran and the French club could face an enforced relegation as to their finances are in a mess, though Eurosport says they are still ignoring that issue as they hope to get it sorted soon.
