Update: Serie A giants name their price for Arsenal and Manchester United’s summer target

Argentine international Gonzalo Higuain’s future in Italy is in serious doubts, with Serie A side Napoli having failed to secure a Champions League spot. The striker has already netted 29 times during the course of the previous campaign and has attracted interest from a number of big European clubs including Arsenal and Manchester United.

Both managers, Arsene Wenger and Louis van Gaal are huge fans of the former Real Madrid star and are looking at the possibility of bringing him to the Premier League this summer.

However, in order to complete the signing of the 27-year-old superstar they will have to splash the cash as the Italian outfit have revealed that Higuain has a gigantic £67,346,998m release clause in his current contract.

A recent statement on the club’s official website read as, “Napoli are keen to clarify certain articles, published in some newspapers, about the departure of Higuain.”

“The official clarification from Napoli is the following: there is a clause in Gonzalo Higuain’s contract. The clause is €94,736,000.”

“There have been no bids. Anyone who wants the player will have to pay the club that amount.”
