Done Deal! Manchester United Set To Complete Another Transfer

Premier League giants Manchester United have agreed a fee with Torino for Italian international Matteo Darmian, according to a report from Sky Italia. Talks are still going on in between the two clubs and after rejecting United’s first two initial bids, it is being stated that the Red Devils have now met an asking price of £12.7m for the superstar right-back.

Darmian is a very talented versatile defender who is capable of playing either as a full-back, or also prefers playing on the right. He can also has the experience of playing at the center-half position and offers a strong aerial presence.

Louis van Gaal wanted to add more high quality defenders to the United back line, as his defensive line was weak mainly against the set-pieces.

Last season United displayed an average performance in defence and lost precious points on various occasions, including in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea in October, which saw the Dutchman’s side end the season at fourth position in the league.

Speaking in November, van Gaal had stated, “In set plays, it is very difficult but that is because of the height of the team – maybe you can advise me to buy tall players.”
