Leigh Griffiths Starts – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Celtic Line-Up To Face Rangers

Predicted Celtic Lineup To Face Rangers

Having taken care of Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden last week, they look to end their Old Firm season unbeaten by winning again at Ibrox this weekend.

The time is getting closer for decisions to be made on the futures of Kieran Tierney, Stuart Armstrong, Moussa Dembele and Patrick Roberts but for their part, all four will look to continue to impress.

When fully fit, the Celtic side more or less picks itself right now and we can’t expect too many surprises from Brendan Rodgers and this familiar looking 4-2-3-1 line-up should be on show:

Probable Celtic XI:

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Brendan Rodgers

GK – Craig Gordon

The former Hearts and Sunderland man has quietly gone about his business in goal this season and is somewhat of an unsung hero. He will no doubt line-up again and will provide a rather tough last line of defence for Rangers to break past.

RB – Mikael Lustig

The Swede may or may not be the first choice right-back next season but for now, he remains an obvious pick.

CB – Dedryck Boyata

The former Man City man seems to have found his level and should start again, though he may well be a target for the Rangers forward line.

CB – Jozo Simunovic

Another chance to impress for the 22-year-old who will start at centre-back alongside Boyata.

LB – Kieran Tierney

A real talent and a cert to be Scotland’s first choice left-back for years to come; Rangers will have to look out for his marauding runs down the left.

CM – Scott Brown

Getting on in years but still influential, the Scotland international will once again captain his side.

CM – Callum McGregor

One of Celtic’s goal scorers in the semi-final and he must be set to go again in midfield.

RW – Patrick Roberts

Soon to go back to Man City with a view of impressing boss Pep Guardiola, for now, Roberts remains a big threat in this division and will provide a stern test for youngster Myles Beerman of Rangers.

CAM – Stuart Armstrong

One of the better players (at least domestically) that Scotland has to offer, Armstrong will provide real danger to the Rangers centre-backs from deep.

LW – Scott Sinclair

Sinclair has had an amazing season and there is no reason why he wouldn’t start this game. The former Swansea man will once again be a big danger.

ST – Leigh Griffiths

With Moussa Dembele out injured, expect Leigh Griffiths to take the field against Rangers. He will have a huge task in hand, which is filling the injured Frenchman’s big boots.

Here’s how Celtic may line up:
