Predicted Burnley Lineup To Face Crystal Palace

Sean Dyche’s Burnley failed to keep up their impressive home record last weekend when they lost 2-0 to Manchester United at Turf Moor. They are just 5 points away from the drop zone and Dyche will hope that his side put in a strong performance in the remaining fixtures this season. Up next is a trip to Selhurst Park, to face a resilient Palace side, which is healing from a loss to Tottenham at home in the mid-week. The Eagles have done exceptionally well in the last few games and Burnley have to be at their best to get anything from this tie.

Team News

Burnley fans were given the news of Joey Barton’s suspension and he will play no role for the club for the next 18 months. Stephan Ward, Sam Vokes, Kevin Long and Scott Arfield are expected to be back in contention for this game while Ben Mee is also not too far away from a comeback. He was withdrawn in the game against United and may not be able to start this game.

Probable Burnley XI:

Formation: 4-4-2

Manager: Sean Dyche

GK – Tom Heaton

One of the most consistent keepers in the league at the moment, Heaton will hope to have a good game this weekend.

RB – Matthew Lowton

After a decent performance against the Red Devils, Lowton should keep his place at right back for this game against an in-form Crystal Palace.

CB – Michael Keane

The English defender has been at his best this season and will be tested against the likes of Benteke in this game against Palace.

CB – James Tarkowski

With Ben Mee still not completely fit, Tarkowski should partner Keane at the back for Burnley this weekend.

LB – Stephan Ward

Though he picked up a knock recently, he is back in training and should start at left-back to complete Burnley’s back line.

RM – George Boyd

The energetic Boyd will have his work cut out as he will be responsible for providing width to Burnley’s attack on the right flank.

CM – Jeff Hendrick

The first-choice midfielder for Burnley, Hendrick has to assume a greater role for his side in the absence of Joey Barton in this game.

CM – Steven Defour

The replacement for Barton, Defour has not been able to establish a place in the first team this season but this is his opportunity.

LM – Robbie Brady

The Irish international has been in decent form for Burnley this season and he will have to be at his best if his side are to take anything from this game.

ST – Andre Gray

The 25-year old striker is currently the top goal scorer in the league for Burnley and he will breathe easy after knowing that Sakho is ruled out and won’t feature this weekend.

ST – Ashley Barnes

His partner Ashley Barnes has also done a decent job this season and the partnership between the two strikers could be key to Burnley taking anything away from this game.

This is how they would line up:
