Barcelona forward David Villa was back in action when his side faced Alaves in the Copa Del Rey clash on Tuesday night. The former valencia forward returned to the starting line up after his injury ravaged time since he broke his leg last year. Villa is hoping to get more playing time as he feels he is ready for some serious football. His performance and goal in his side’s 3-0 victory should give Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova some encouragement to start the player on a regular basis.
Villa is desperate for more playing time in the Primera Division and could be in line to face Celta Vigo this weekend, the player has so far started only four games this season and for player with his credentials it will not be easy to be in the bench all the time.
“After all this time I want to play as much as possible, but I am in the hands of professionals and they know what’s best for me,” he said. I’m at the best club in the world, where there is competition to start in every game.”
