Are Chelsea Missing Out On This Attacker? He Could Impove The Clubs’ Average 1.8 Goals Per Game

Conte’s team hasn’t been the most efficient or consistent side so far this season, mainly because of lack of chemistry and ideas in the offensive end of the pitch, being bailed out by late scores by Diego Costa during most of the games.

You could say that changing some pieces could make a big difference for Chelsea FC, however, when you look at the current roster of Abramovich’s squad, you won’t find many reliable options to make an actual impact or difference in the game, keeping aside two or three offensive players.

Chelsea’s only options in the attacking midfielder spot are Eden Hazard, Oscar, Victor Moses, Pedro and Willian, and this lack of depth in this position is really hurting the blues chances to make a run for the title, and they could be in a major predicament if one of those guys suffers an injury. Besides injury, the players are suffering from inconsistency, especially the likes of Willian, Pedro and Oscar.

This situation gets even worse if you notice the fact that the blues currently have 38 players on loan, including some guys that could provide a big boost to the current roster, such as wingers Christian Atsu.

Things get worst if you remember some of the guys this team has let go in the past few seasons, such as Eden’s brother Thorgan Hazard, Kevin de Bruyne and Andre Schurrle and lately, there’s been a guy that’s going to make them regret the decision of loaning him, the Colombian star Juan Guillermo Cuadrado.

Cuadrado has been on loan with Juventus since the past season after making only 15 appearances for Chelsea since they brought him from Fiorentina in the second half of the 2014-2015 season when he was supposed to have a starring role for Mourinho’s side.

Juan Guillermo has been known through all his career as one of the most speedy guys you’ll have to guard in Europe, and his transition from right back to winger made him a complete player that can be really productive on both ends of the pitch on a consistent basis.

The Colombian winger has been one of the most important players for his national team alongside James Rodriguez, as the dynamic duo took the reins of the team with Jose Pekerman, shocking the world during the 2014 World Cup after being knocked out by Brazil.

Even if Cuadrado has only made two starts so far this season for Juventus, he’s been the most reliable guy off the bench for Massimiliano Allegri, who has looked for him every single time his side is in need of pace, precise crosses and incredible dribbling skills.

This was exactly what happened the last time Allegri’s team was in trouble when they couldn’t get past a fierce Olympique Lyon defense that was determined to keep a clean sheet at home and make a run at this year’s UEFA Champions League.

Cuadrado replaced Paulo Dybala with 21 minutes left in regulation and immediately helped his teammates get better looks against Anthony Lopes until he finally scored the game-winning goal just 7 minutes after he was called for duty.

Chelsea’s lack of offensive variants makes them have a really low average of goals per game, scoring 1.8 goals per match, and a potential Cuadrado return could really help them improve in this category.
