Chelsea Latest: Napoli Star Heading To Stamford Bridge + Twitter Reactions From Piers Morgan

Cavani poised to move to Chelsea

So this season has finally given Chelsea something to cheer about. They are not ending the season empty handed and have won the Europa League in dramatic fashion. But this is also the penultimate game for Rafa Benitez with the interim manager being released by the club at the end of the season and current Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho set to take over the team.

With the advent of Mourinho, Chelsea will be looking to sign a striker who can fill the void created by the absence of Drogba. Their current strike duo of Ba and Torres has not fired in as many goals as the club would have preferred. At this situation it is a given fact that they would go for a world class striker when the transfer season opens.

Chelsea had been targeting some strikers for a long time and were ready to make bids for them. One of their primary strikers on the wish-list  Radamel Falcao, who had reportedly agreed to a transfer to Chelsea, has been captured by ambitious Ligue 1 side Monaco with a big money transfer. Their other target Lewandowski, who has been contacted by Mourinho’s agent personally, has been weighing his move to Bayern Munich to be headed by Pep Guardiola from next season.

Under these circumstances, they are considering a move for Napoli star Edinson Cavani, who has shone for the Italian side throughout the season and expressed his desire to leave the club in pursuit of greener pastures. Cavani has been a goal machine for his side firing in 77 goals from 103 league appearances. It is mainly because of his heroics that Napoli have been making such huge progress for the last couple of seasons.

But it is assumed that Napoli are not going to let go of their star striker for anything under £40m, which Chelsea are lining up for the Uruguayan. Cavani is 26 right now and at the peak of his career, which gives Chelsea a long time to make use of their recruit.

If Chelsea can transfer in Cavani in the upcoming summer window, their side will get a huge boost and his partnership with their talented midfield will be a treat to watch.

In other news, Piers Morgan, the infamous Arsenal fan and a Television host, got a handful from Chelsea fan @TekkaBooSon last night, as he tried to mock Chelsea’s Europa league triumph over Benfica.
