It is finally a deal done and this time the news is not a hoax. According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea have finally managed to finalize a deal for Brazilian international Filipe Luis to return to Spain. The left-back had a medical with the former La Liga champs last Thursday night and returned to Madrid at the beginning of last week.
However, the Blues were not officially announcing the deal as they wanted to sign a replacement first and there was a slight disagreement, about how a fee would be paid. The British media stated that the west London side suddenly were demanding a much bigger fee for the player though Marca further explained that a deal was sorted out.
Luis on Saturday had dinner with his former teammates at their training base, which should surely mean that a deal is done. The defensive superstar has signed a four year contract with Diego Simeone’s side and will look to once again earn a regular spot in his starting eleven.
