Chelsea have made a strong start to life under new manager Maurizio Sarri this season, with the Blues yet to be beaten this season. Under the Italian, they are playing an expansive and attractive brand of football.
Sarri has definitely transformed this Chelsea side into title contenders but the manager could definitely use a couple more signings to compete on all fronts. The Blues will also be aiming to win the Europa League under the Italian this season.
According to the Metro, Liverpool are interested in signing Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski. The Polish midfielder’s current contract expires in 2021 and the Italian outfit are keen to hand him a new deal that will see his release clause rise to a mammoth £114million. But according to the report, Zielinski is not in favour of raising his £57million clause as Napoli aim to ward off any potential suitors.
Chelsea should hijack the move and go for the player. Given that Sarri has previously coached Napoli and holds a good relationship with most of the players, Zielinski would be a massive hit at Stamford Bridge.
The Poland international is definitely capable of thriving in Sarri’s high octane system and will definitely flourish in the Premier League. He is often deployed as a central attacking midfielder but Zielinski is also comfortable playing on the left flank.
The best part about him is his versatility. The Napoli midfielder has also enjoyed playing as a deep-lying holding midfielder. He has also played as a central midfielder at times and that is why he will surely be a huge hit under Sarri at Chelsea.
Zielinski has made a total of 7 appearances in the Serie A this season, scoring 2 goals. He is yet to hit full stride but is still one of the most potent threats going forward.
The Poland international was also impressive for his country at the World Cup in Russia this summer, though they failed to progress past the group stages.
The 24-year-old is also an immaculate passer of the ball, averaging a pass success rate of 88.8% in the Serie A this season. He has also averaged at least 2.6 shots per game and has been a constant menace for the opposition defenders. (Stats courtesy – Whoscored)

Chelsea should definitely make the move for Piotr Zielinski in January. The Blues should aim to get ahead of Liverpool in the pursuit and though they cannot offer the prospect of Champions League football, Zielinski can definitely play a huge role in helping them get there this season, helping them win the league title.
