Chalobah And Ake Starts – Predicted 3-4-3 Chelsea Line-Up To Face Brentford

Share

With 55 points from 22 games, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea are currently at the top of the Premier League table, 8 points off Arsenal at the 2nd place. The manager will be pleased with his team’s recent performances in the league and will now turn his attention towards cup success as his side face a home tie against Brentford in the 4th round of the FA Cup this weekend.

The Blues beat Peterborough in the previous round of the competition and Conte will hope that his side can put in a similar performance against Brentford this weekend to take a step closer to Wembley. The manager is expected to make a few changes but will put in a strong side on the night and here is the predicted lineup he might field for this game:

Team News:

The manager has no injury issues to worry about and has a fully fit squad ahead of this FA Cup tie.

Expected lineup (3-4-3):

Asmir Begovic:

Though linked with an exit recently, Begovic is still a Chelsea player and is expected to start this game against Brentford.

Cesar Azpilicueta:

The Spaniard has been sublime this season for Chelsea and he should keep his place in the starting XI for this FA Cup tie.

John Terry:

The skipper of the side, Terry, has not been a regular in the league this season and he will get his chance to make an impact at the club for the first time this month.

Kurt Zouma:

The young defender is yet to feature in the Premier League after coming back from injury and this game will give him a decent chance to get back into the first team under Conte.

Ola Aina:

The youngster has been superb so far this season whenever he was called upon and Conte should stick with him for this tie against Brentford.

Nathaniel Chalobah:

Another youngster who has been impressive in recent outings, Chalobah will have a big role to play in the middle of the park for Conte this weekend.

Cesc Fabregas:

Not a regular in the Premier League anymore, Fabregas will hope to get back into the plans of the manager at the club with an impressive performance in this FA Cup tie.

Nathan Ake:

Having moved back to Chelsea at the start of the month, Ake is expected to play a decent role for Conte this season and should start this game at the left wing-back position.

Willian:

The Brazilian has been overtaken by Pedro in the first team in the league this season but he should get his chance in the starting XI on the night against Brentford.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek:

The young Englishman has not been given enough chances to prove himself this season but Conte should throw him into the mix this weekend.

Michy Batshuayi:

The only player who can relieve Diego Costa of his duties, Batshuayi is expected to lead the attacking line for Chelsea for this game.
