Celtic FC News: Timothy Weah making a premature exit from Park Head

Celtic FC News: Timothy Weah is set to leave Celtic at the behest of the manager. (h/t The Daily Record UK) The American winger was loaned from French giants PSG earlier this season.

The 21-year-old made an immediate impact, following his move to Park Head but has fallen out of favour lately.

His heroics against St Johnstone would be remembered for good, as he came off the bench to pull the game in favour of the Hoops. Weah also scored in the season’s reverse fixture.

He has bagged 3 goals and an assist in 13 games this season and got named in his USA’s national squad for U-20 World Cup.

The youngster took to Instagram to announce his departure and revealed what Neil Lennon had told him. (h/t The Daily Record UK)

I will be joining my national team to participate in the U20 World Cup in Poland.

“With this decision, the gaffer told me that it is in the best interest of the team that I collect my things and go home rather than be a part of the game on Sunday, so I’ll be on my way.

Weah also felt grateful for the Hoops providing him with the opportunity and said he will continue to progress.

The Hoops were crowned the Scottish Premiership Champions this season under Lennon. The former Hibernian manager is now unbeaten and has secured 7 wins out of 10.
