According to a report from Wales Online, Burnley and Crystal Palace are interested in Cardiff City winger Josh Murphy.
The former England Under-20 international scored three goals and supplied two assists in the Premier League following his move from Norwich City last summer. However, those contributions were not enough as the Bluebirds suffered relegation from the top-flight.
Josh Murphy, though, was one of the club’s more exciting players throughout the campaign, and it would be a huge boost if Neil Warnock could keep him in the side after relegation.
Interest from Premier League clubs would certainly be tough for the wide-man to decline and Burnley should definitely test Cardiff’s resolve with a bid.
Burnley struggled for large portions of this past season and eventually finished 15th in the table. But it wasn’t just an easy ride to 15th place, with Sean Dyche’s men flirting heavily with the drop zone for the majority of the campaign. The Clarets should now make sure that they don’t capitulate next term as they’ll be one of the favourites for relegation.
Sean Dyche will have to dive into the transfer market to strengthen a number of areas and they cannot afford to fail in their attempt. He will hope to have new faces in ahead of the Premier League opener against Southampton on August 10 with the summer transfer window shutting slam two days earlier.
Burnley not only lacked goals last season, but creativity and pace were also found wanting. Apart from the exciting young Dwight McNeil, they struggled to pierce opposition defences and as a result, managed a paltry no. of goals.
Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood both reached double figures last season, though, and are becoming a strike force to be reckoned with in the Premier League. But for Barnes and Wood to continue their good form in the upcoming campaign, Dyche needs a couple of players that could constantly provide good service from wide areas.

One of the players could be Josh Murphy. The 24-year-old is an extremely versatile player, with an abundance of pace, skill and movement.
His versatility will give Sean Dyche a number of options next season and his ability to both score and create will help Burnley climb higher up the table.
The ex-Norwich ace is hugely talented and direct with the ball at his feet, capable of taking on defenders and beating them with his burst of acceleration.
Murphy would be a fantastic signing for Burnley next season. The 24-year-old will massively improve under a manager like Sean Dyche and the Clarets chief can definitely get the best out of him next season.
