Brilliant Richarlison – The Best And The Worst Rated Watford Players From The Win vs Swansea

Share

Full Time: Swansea City 1-2 Watford

After a disastrous performance at home to Manchester City, Watford were back to winning ways this weekend, as a last-gasp winner from Richarlison gifted them all three points on their trip to the Liberty Stadium.

Andre Gray gave the visitors a lead early in the game but Tammy Abraham continued his impressive form, pulling one back for the Swans, which proved to be worthless.

Here’s how the Watford players fared against Swansea:

Heurelho Gomes (7)

Could not have done much to stop the goal from Abraham and apart from one mistake, he was a solid presence in the Watford box.

Kiko Femina (7)

Was a constant threat at both ends of the field as he linked up well in the attack and helped his side to a victory.

Christian Kabesele (7)

Grew in confidence as the game progressed and made light work of Wilfried Bony, who looked determined to score.

Adrian Mariappa (7)

Gave his all in a solid defensive display at the heart of the Watford defence, making a number of blocks and interceptions throughout the game.

Jose Holebas (6)

Stuck to his task well in the first half but was caught out of position on a number of occasions in the second half when he was given freedom to bomb forward.

Abdoulaye Doucoure (6)

Did well in the middle of the park, helping Watford keep possession of the ball but was lucky not to see a second yellow early in the second half.

Tom Cleverly (6)

Managed to control the tempo of the game, keeping possession of the ball and tiring the Swansea defence and midfield, alongside Doucoure.

Andre Carrillo (7)

Was a constant menace to the Swansea defence in the first half, where he easily got past them into the final third, far too easily for the home side’s liking.

Etienne Capoue (6)

Made a decent comeback into the first team but only lasted 45 minutes, before he was subbed off.

Richarlison (8)

Kept his calm late in the game and helped his side to a win. He also won a number of loose balls in the middle of the park to keep his side in the hunt.

Andre Gray (7)

Opened the scoring for his side with a poacher’s goal and could have had more with his industry and hard-work in the final third.

Subs

Molla Wague (6)

Making his debut, he came on for Capoue and though did not affect the game, he did no harm to his reputation.

Roberto Pereyra (6)

Created once real chance of note but failed to command and make an impact on the game.

Troy Deeney (7)

Came on late in the game but had an instant impact, winning the ball back in the build-up to the winner and also testing Fabianski late in the game.
