Wolves 2-2 Hull City: Tigers Pull Of An Important Draw To Snatch A Point

Hull pulled off an impressive draw against the Championship leaders last evening and if they can keep up this performance level, then the worries of slipping into relegation zone will soon be forgotten.

They had a slice of luck with the own goal but take nothing away from them. They battled to the very end and they could have actually taken all three points on another night.

Hull City Player Ratings

Allan McGregor – 7/10

McGregor had a good game for Hull and managed to keep them in during the early parts of the game. He made an excellent save to deny Saiss from point-blank range and went on to make a good double save later. A solid performance from the goalkeeper.

Max Clark – 6.5/10

Tackled well and dispossessed the Wolves team on several occasions, looked comfortable for most of the game.

Angus MacDonald – 6/10

Neither of the Hull centre-backs put in good performances but MacDonald, in particular, did not have a great night. He didn’t win a single aerial challenge and playing against a team who have a reputation for being dominant during set-pieces, you would want him to be up for that challenge.

Michael Hector – 6/10

Hector did not put in the worst performance of his career and actually looked quite stable at times. But he just made a ridiculous decision to dive in rather than stay on his feet, which resulted in him giving away the penalty.

Fikayo Tomori– 7/10

Had a decent game at right-back. Did all you could expect of him defensively, tackling well and winning some of his aerial duels. Adkins would probably have wanted more from him in the attack but he wouldn’t be too disappointed with the performance.

Ola Aina – 6/10

Aina did better defensively and didn’t really look like an offensive threat to Douglas. Will be looking to do better next game.

David Meyler – 7.5/10

Took his penalty very well and bossed the midfield throughout the game. He put a lot of pressure on the Wolves midfielders and made it hard for them to play their normal style.

Markus Henriksen – 7/10

Henriksen played well in the middle of the park for Hull. He tackled well, broke up the Wolves play, pressed them high and it paid dividends.

Stephen Kingsley – 7/10

The wide man played well for 70 minutes and was unlucky to be taken off. He had a couple of bustling runs at the Wolves defence and had his final ball been better, he could’ve made the difference.

Jon Toral – 7/10

Toral had a good game and looked like he might grab a goal on a couple of occasions. However, it wasn’t to be. He looked the most threatening of the Hull attackers.

Nouha Dicko – 6/10

Not a great game for Dicko. He played the lone striker role and didn’t hold the ball well. Was replaced in the 65^th minute and no surprise.

Substitutes

Jackson Irvine – 6.5/10

Replaced Jon Toral in the 61^st minute, won the ball better in the air than Toral did but offered less going forward.

Kamil Grosicki – 7/10

Came on in the 65^th minute to replace Dicko and did have an impact on the game, putting in a dangerous cross which Ryan Bennett put into his own net for Hull’s second goal.

Fraizer Campbell – 6/10

Replaced Kingsley in the 70^th minute and did nothing of note. Didn’t get many opportunities.
