Brilliant Lanzini – The Best And The Worst Rated West Ham Players From The Huge 3-0 Win vs Stoke

Share

Full Time: Stoke City 0-3 West Ham United

David Moyes seems to be working wonders with the squad at his disposal at West Ham as his side has now picked up 7 points in their last three games, including a victory at the BET365 Stadium this weekend. Mark Noble opened the scoring for the visitors, from the spot, as the Potters struggled to keep up with the quality of the Hammers.

The hosts never looked like coming back into the game before Marko Arnautovic scored his second in three games, to double the lead in the 75th minute. Diafra Sakho added a late third as West Ham wrapped off a comfortable victory and finally managed to move out of the drop zone. Here’s how the visitors fared on the day.

West Ham Player Ratings

Adrian (6)

Had a comfortable night where he was hardly tested, as he helped himself to an easy clean sheet.

Pablo Zabaleta (6)

Looked a bit lethargic, playing his third game in less than eight days but stuck to his task well on the flank, keeping Stoke away from creating chances down his flank.

Angelo Ogbonna (8)

A confident show from the Italian, who won everything thrown at him inside the box and kept the Stoke attackers frustrated all game.

James Collins (7)

Started his first game in more than two months but showed no signs of nerves, throwing himself about in the box and playing a huge role in his side keeping a clean sheet.

Aaron Cresswell (8)

Had to deal with the lanky Crouch all game but Cresswell did not put a foot wrong, winning most balls in the air, showing great composure at CB.

Arthur Masuaku (6)

His pace and direct approach to the game was a bit too hot for the Potters but his end product often let him down as he gave away possession far too easily.

Pedro Obiang (7)

Never gave the Stoke City midfielders any time or space on the ball, making a number of interceptions and winning the ball back quickly for his side in the midfield.

Mark Noble (7)

Made no mistake from the spot and looked like a more menacing threat from the midfield. Will be gutted to have picked up an injury as he got subbed off in the 33rd minute.

Manuel Lanzini (8)

Controlled the tempo of the game in the middle of the park and picked up a couple of assists. Also won the spot-kick that Noble converted, albeit a controversial one, in a match-winning performance from the Argentine.

Marko Arnautovic (6)

Looked a bit nervy, playing his former club for the first time since his move to West Ham, as he had a number of easy chances to take West Ham 2-0 up before he finally took one, 15 minutes from the end.

Michail Antonio (6)

His energy and running in the final third was always a threat but he lost possession far too easily as his first touch often eluded him.

Substitutes

Declan Rice (6)

Replaced Noble at the half-hour mark and made no mistake, keeping the Stoke midfielders honest till the end.

Diafra Sakho (6)

Still struggling with confidence as he could have had more than just the goal that he scored late in the game, thanks to some smart finishing.

Javier Hernandez (N/A)

Came on for Arnautovic in the 79th minute.
