Watford 2-2 Bournemouth: Cherries Produce Stunning Comeback To Steal An Away Point

Bournemouth scored a late equaliser to gain a point from their journey to Vicarage Road. In the 13th minute, Kiko Femenia put Watford in front with a fierce right-footed shot after Holebas put the ball into the box following a corner.

With half-time approaching, Holebas gave away a blatant handball to allow Josh King to level the scores. Early in the second half, Pereyra scored via a Dan Gosling deflection to give the Hornets the lead. It seemed like a Watford win until Jermain Defoe netted an injury-time winner.

Bournemouth Player Ratings

Asmir Begovic – 6

Was caught out for both goals which took deflections. Not the best when it came to distribution.

Ryan Fraser- 6.5

Played well, considering that he hadn’t played as a full-back before.

Steve Cook – 6

Solid defending from Cook. Gives everything for his team.

Nathan Aké – 7

Played the ball well out of defence and made several vital interceptions.

Charlie Daniels – 7

A great player for Bournemouth and he will be happy that his team came away with a draw.

Lewis Cook

Jordon Ibe – 6

Not a great performance from the former Liverpool player. Got caught in possession at times.

Lewis Cook – 7.5

Growing into a very impressive player. Never stopped trying to go forward and has a toughness in his game.

Dan Gosling – 6

Was unlucky that the second goal came off him. However, he put in a perfect away performance. Never stopped running and never gave up.

Junior Stanislas – 6

Had a good first half but was replaced at half-time due to an injury.

Jermain Defoe

Josh King – 7

Took the penalty very well and kept finding pockets of space.

Callum Wilson – 6.5

Was probably the worst out of the three strikers on the pitch. Found himself offside far too much.

Substitutes

Marc Pugh (for Junior Stanislas 45′) – 7

Had a solid second half and ran himself into the ground for his team.

Jermain Defoe (for Ibe 67′) – 9

Came on and scored in the last minute to send the Bournemouth fans into dreamland.

Andrew Surman (for Wilson 81′) N/A

Not enough time to make an impact.
