A controversial Joe Allen goal against his former club Swansea City saw Stoke City claim a much-needed 1-0 win. Striker Benik Afobe appeared to be offside when the ball ricocheted off him to fall in the path of Allen, who lashed home the winner. Swansea appeals went in vain.
The home side did miss few chances before scoring, with Afobe and Tom Ince guilty of glaring misses. Swansea responded with chances of their own, but Jack Butland made two good saves to keep his team in the game.
This win puts Stoke at 14th position in the table. It is now time for Garry Rowett to build on this.

Could have had a goal had he been more clinical, especially in the first half. Got a lucky (offside) deflected assist to his name for the match-winning goal.
Ran hard for the team without really threatening. Did some good defensive work by tracking back.
