Brilliant Arnautovic, Poor Ayew – The Best And The Worst Rated West Ham Players From The 3-3 Draw vs Bournemouth

Share

Final Score: Bournemouth 3-3 West Ham United

West Ham United managed to salvage a single point in a highly controversial away game against Bournemouth as the match ended in a 3-3 draw. Marko Arnautovic scored a stunning brace to help the Hammers keep pace with an intense Cherries side. A goal from James Collins helped David Moyes’ men seal an early lead but Dan Gosling ensured it did not last beyond half-time. Bournemouth dominated proceedings for a long time.

Towards the end of the game, Arnautovic almost won the game for West Ham with a goal but Callum Wilson managed to score another – and that’s where the controversy broke out. Whether or not it was a legitimate goal continues to be a hotly-debated topic since there was an offside situation in the build-up. The goal was allowed though and the match ended as it did.

West Ham United Player Ratings

Adrian – 5/10

He should have made a better effort to save Gosling’s equaliser since that goal changed the pace of the match. Was quite nervy on the whole.

Pablo Zabaleta – 4.5/10

Zabaleta received a booking before half-time and was quite clumsy throughout the game. He made a couple of unnecessary fouls on Ryan Fraser which did not do anything for the Hammers.

James Collins – 7.5/10

Collins gifted West Ham an early lead with a brilliant header. Defensively, he did his duty decently enough but even he had some sloppy moments.

Angelo Ogbonna – 6.5/10

Ogbonna tried hard to keep the Bournemouth strikers at bay and put up an average performance but he was one of West Ham’s better defenders.

Aaron Cresswell – 6/10

Cresswell was excellent in the first half but seemed quite weak after the break. He almost allowed Gosling to score a goal.

Arthur Masuaku – 5/10

Masuaku made some important crosses in the first half but his impact kept dwindling as the game progressed. However, he made a sublime cross to aid one of Arnautovic’s goals.

Pedro Obiang – 6.5/10

Obiang was clearly one of the players that worked tirelessly to make things happen. Failed to keep Ake at bay but he was quite isolated in the middle and yet put in a decent performance.

Cheikhou Kouyate – 4/10

Kouyate could not really establish any partnership with Obiang and looked quite confused for major parts of the game.

Andre Ayew – 3/10

Ayew had a stunning chance to score from an early Masuaku cross but he failed to connect the dots. Besides that, he was quite ineffective and did nothing impressive.

Manuel Lanzini – 5/10

Lanzini seemed rather quiet and could not make an impact even though he enjoyed a great deal of possession.

Marko Arnautovic – 8/10

Arnautovic covered a lot of ground and often drifted to the wings. He did bag a brace and was a key man for the Hammers and this will come as an encouraging sign for David Moyes.

Subs:

Javier Hernandez – 7/10

Provided an assist and indulged in some impressive high-pressing play.

Andy Carroll – 6/10

Carroll seemed in control and did his duty diligently enough.
