Kop boss Brendan Rodgers has left out some of his senior players at home, as Liverpool are all set to travel to Bordeaux for their Europa League clash against Bordeaux. Rodgers finalized his squad and has decided to rest striker Christian Benteke and acting skipper James Milner from the travelling party. The England international’s omission will leave question marks over who will captain the Reds, as Jordan Henderson is currently in America treating his heel injury.
Benteke’s absence will offer Divock Origi a start, who played in the French league with Lille and has been part of the first-team setup in recent weeks.
Jon Flanagan is still out injured and will not feature in Thursday’s clash and Rogers’ could include a pair of young Merseyside players instead.
The ECHO has further stated that Connor Randall has joined Jordan Rossiter and the pair will be making the trip to France as well for the first game of the group stages.
