Bayern, Dortmund Play Out An Exciting Draw As Badstuber Faces Lengthy Injury Spell

Bundesliga heavy-waits Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund clashed in their first match this season and with Bayern standing firm at the top of the table, Dortmund travelled to the Allianz arena in a hope to reduce the deficit. The match was exciting from the kick off as both the teams played all out on attack to end the match all square at 1-1.

Dortmund salvaged a point from the game and are 11 points behind Bayern at 3rd place. Although the match started without much of good exchanges the game got picked up pace soon enough. Toni Kroos gave the Bavarians lead in the 67th minute, only to see Mario Goetze equalise seven minutes later Borussia Dortmund. And though the visiting team has won the last 4 meetings with Bayern, they could not make it for the 5th time and have to thank their goalkeeper Weidenfeller for some excellent saves he made to keep Dortmund in the game.

Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes was forced to make a substitution after 37 minutes as Jerome Boateng replaced fellow Germany defender Holger Badstuber, who suffered a right knee injury. The defender was carried to the dressing room immedialtely and after initial diagnosis it is reported that the Badstuber may miss the game for about 6 months, which will come as a heavy blow for Dormtund.
