Arsenal vs. Liverpool: Predicted lineup for the Reds as this new attacker could start

Share

Liverpool are set to face their sternest test this season as they travel away to Arsenal on Monday night. The Reds are unbeaten this season and have a maximum 6 points from their opening two games, the Gunners have three from their two games. Liverpool will be looking to continue their defensive record as they haven’t conceded a goal in the opening two games but would be looking to have a greater impact in attack as they have only scored twice in the game.

Liverpool

Jordan Henderson is a major doubt for the game due to an injury he picked up against Bournemouth and with the captain possibly missing the game we predict the starting XI for the Merseyside club.

Simon Mignolet

Mignolet hasn’t had much to do this season but could be in for a tough day against Arsenal.

Joe Gomez

The youngster might have done well in the last two games but dealing with Sanchez or Ozil will be tough on him.

Dejan Lovren

Lovren has looked a different player this season and looks more solid in defence and decision making. His real test will be against Arsenal, though, hopefully, he should do well to contain the Gunners.

Martin Skrtel

The Slovakian hasn’t been at his best at the start of the season but with two clean sheets already, he will be looking to shut out Arsenal.

Nathaniel Clyne

Like a glove fits onto a hand, Clyne seems like he has been Liverpool’s right-back for years and should play against Arsenal.

James Milner

The vice-captain should continue in his role in midfield, Milner hasn’t starred in any game as of yet but he has big game experience, which is why Liverpool chose to sign him.

Jordan Henderson

Emre Can

With Henderson a major doubt, Can should get the opportunity to play in midfield. Can would also provide a lot of defensive ability in midfield, which would be great against the likes of Sanchez, Ozil and company.

Philippe Coutinho

The go-to-guy for Liverpool, Coutinho holds the key for Liverpool’s performance and he would have to play out of his socks to give his club a chance of winning at the Emirates.

Roberto Firmino

Adam Lallana hasn’t really done much to keep a starting place in the team and this could be the chance to play Firmino against Arsenal.

Can Roberto Firmino be the man for Liverpool?

Jordon Ibe

The youngster should continue to play as one of Liverpool’s wingers and would need to put in an extra defensive shift as he has to deal with Arsenal’s attackers as well.

Christian Benteke

The Belgian scored his first goal in controversial circumstances against Bournemouth and will be hopeful of a similar showing against Arsenal.
