Spanish publication AS reports that Arsenal could reignite their interest in Spanish forward David Villa. Now with champions league qualification sealed, Wenger will shift his focus on the transfer market. Arsenal were linked with David Villa in January but Barcelona made clear that they would not sell any of their players during the January window. Arsenal will face stiff competition from their bitter rivals Tottenham who are also a clear favorites to do a deal. However, as rumors suggests, Villa could still move to Arsenal.
Another Barcelona player linked with the move to Emirates is their goalkeeper Victor Valdes. Rumors got high when he revealed that he will not be extending his stay with the Spanish champions after his present contract (expiring in 2014). AS believes a combined fee of €25 million (£21m) fee would be enough to sign both the players. Newly-promoted Ligue 1 side Monaco is also interested in signing Valdes.
