Arsenal, Liverpool And Manchester United Stars Feature In The Top Five Goals of 2013

Share

In the fascinating Year 2013 hundreds of unbelievable goals were scored, but only the best are to be remembered. While some prefer long-range efforts, teamwork has also found the net. Here are the Top Five Goals scored in the English Premier League in 2013 which will live long in our memories:

Jack Wilshere [Arsenal] vs Norwich City

An amazing tiki-taka goal, in Barcelona style, brought to us by Gunner trio – Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud which was started and finished by the man, who was in the right place, in the right time, Jack Wilshere. One-touch, quick and accurate passes have disarmed the whole Norwich City defence.

Pajtim Kasami [Fulham] vs Crystal Palace

Kasami needed just two touches to score one of the most amazing goals of the year. Chest. Volley. Goal. Julian Speroni stood as if he had been bewitched by the skillful shot. The Czech’s goal helped Fulham in the cracking 1-4 away win over Crystal Palace back in October.

Two months earlier a very similar goal had been scored in the Denmark‘s SAS Ligaen by Peter Ankersen from an even tighter angle.

Robin van Persie [Manchester United] vs Aston Villa

The man who has scored the biggest number of goals has also scored one of the most breathtaking ones. The Dutch forward scored an absolute screamer in a match that confirmed The Red Devils as Premier League champions. A long-pass ball from Wayne Rooney met van Persie’s shoulder to later be smashed into Brad Guzan’s net.

Luis Suarez [Liverpool] vs Norwich City

Luis Suarez, the most in-form player in the English Premier League at the moment, has shown a spectacular performance in December against Norwich City, when Livepool thrashed the The Canaries 5-1. He then found the net four times, scoring four screamers and it is difficult to choose which was the most magnificent one, however his amazing 45-meter volley was the most outstanding one.

El Pistolero had also scored an amazing long-range goal from over 50 metres one year before.

Matthew Lowton [Aston Villa] vs Stoke City

Last but not least is Aston Villa’s Matt Lowton who thanks to his thunderous strike deserves a place between the best goals of the past year. Nobody expected the defender to have a try from over 30 metres. The Englishman showed great control of the ball and with a powerful shot found the net in a 1-3 win over Stoke City in April.
