Arsenal Latest: Don’t Bother Wayne Rooney Rumours, We Have Sanogo + Giroud In Puma Kits

Manchester United hit-man Wayne Rooney has handed over his second transfer request following United’s title celebrations last week which has created a havoc in the Internet as rumours have started to flow from all directions. From PSG to Newcastle United, the England International has been linked with a whole lot of clubs. So what about Arsenal’s prospect of signing Rooney? Well, let’s just say it is not possible.

The fact that Rooney demands  £250,000-a-week salary which is a real show stopper for Arsene Wenger’s transfer policy, Arsenal would never spend such an amount on a single player as Rooney’s transfer fee would also stand outside their spending limit. Their current top earner Lukas Podolski is somewhere around £100,000 and even if Rooney decides to take a pay-cut, it will most probably be outside the Gunner’s wage bill. Besides there are number of clubs out there wanting the player who can afford his wages and also provide him with the shot at winning trophies which is a big question mark with Arsenal.

Following the rumours, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has come out and denied any contacts with Manchester United regarding Rooney.

“I don’t know if Man United will sell Rooney, and that is the best sign to show you that we have not made any approach for him; the first thing is to phone Manchester United, which we did not do,” the Frenchman told reporters.

Also reports suggest that Arsenal are after another French kid Yaya Sanogo, from Ligue 2 side Auxerre. The French youth International has scored nine goals in 11 league appearances this season and is touted as the ‘next big thing’. Talking about Sanogo, Wenger said:

“It is in the advanced stages but it is not done,” Wenger said of a deal. “I’m very confident. He is a young, promising striker who is a big talent.”

And for those of you who have not heard about the kid, here is a video showcasing his talents.

Here we leave you with pictures of Olivier Giroud wearing Puma evoSPEED 1.2 kits.
