Premier League giants Arsenal are now considering a move to sign Celta de Vigo forward Nolito in the new year, according to recent reports. Though the Gunners have been keen on bringing Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain to the Emirates right through the summer, it seems that their interest has brought them no gain, due to the high asking price that was being demanded.
The Argentine international has a contract with the Serie A outfit with a staggering £68m release clause, which has hindered a deal from going through. The 29-year-old Spanish international is at the moment, on top of the north London side’s winter wish-list and was also being monitored by his former club Barcelona.
Nolito has been in superb form in the current campaign, scoring 7 goals in just 9 La Liga games, which has attracted the attention of the two European giants. It is still not clear whether or not the player will be willing to move away from his present club or not though Arsene Wenger might push for a deal to go through, as he looks to strengthen his squad in the upcoming transfer window.
